Important update: Transitioning away from the Canadian Common CV (CCV)
The granting councils are in the process of gradually shifting toward a new narrative-style CV for all funding competitions. As this transition progresses, the use of the Canadian Common CV (CCV) will be phased out.
What does this mean for the granting councils (CIHR, NSERC, and SSHRC)?
The granting councils will continue to use the Canadian Common CV (CCV) for select funding opportunities as they gradually transition to a new narrative-style CV format. This shift will be implemented over time, and users will be supported throughout the process.
What does this mean for partner organizations?
As part of this transition, all partner organizations will end their use of the CCV by March 31, 2026, at the latest.
The presidents of the granting councils have announced a gradual transition away from the Canadian Common CV (CCV) to a new narrative-style CV for competitions.
The granting councils are committed to supporting CCV users through this transition. Rest assured the CCV will not be going away anytime soon and once a timeline has been established for when it will be taken offline, plenty of advance notice will be provided.
Guidance will also be provided on how users can retain/retrieve their information housed in the CCV.
